Grades

Two of the most common grades of stainless steel are 304 and 316. 304 and 304L are the most widely used grades for stainless steel square bars as they are cost-effective, versatile, have good forming and welding properties, while also maintaining their durability. Stainless steel grade 304 is ideal for most applications which require durable support and corrosion resistance. Grade 304 also has high strength-to-weight ratio and moderate resistance to thermal and electrical conductivity. Grades 316 and 316L provides higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride than stainless steel grade 304. Stainless steel grade 316 also has outstanding welding characteristics suitable for a wide range of applications. Stainless steel grade 316 has higher strength and rigidity resistance than stainless steel grade 304, with the ability to maintain its properties in cryogenic or high temperatures.
