Aluminium U Channels, also known as Aluminium Channels or Aluminium C Channels, are general purpose profiles that are widely used in both commercial and internal applications. Aluminium U channels are fairly strong and have exceptional corrosion resistance making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The aluminium U channel has high durability and is lightweight, making it the ideal choice for many applications, including structural framing, fitting, automobile construction, furniture manufacture and other general fabrication uses.

Aluminium U Channels Applications

Uses of aluminium U channel include architectural trim, marine, ornamental, framing, displays, construction, glass and mirror projects, store fixtures, railings, elevators, woodworking projects.

Aluminium U Channels Grades

Two of the most commonly used grades of aluminium U channel alloys are 6061 and 6063. AA6061 has the highest versatility of all heat-treatable aluminium U channel alloys, while keeping most of the good qualities of aluminium. It is corrosion resistant and offers a range of good mechanical properties. It can be welded and fabricated by many commonly used techniques and has good workability in the annealed condition. As a result, AA6061 is used in many products and applications, which require strength and corrosion resistance.

AA6063 has a fairly low strength, but excellent corrosion resistance and a smoother surface, as compared to other aluminium alloys. 6063 aluminium has good weldability and more formability than multipurpose 6061 aluminium. For aluminium U channels that require greater strength, AA6063 can be heat treated for added strength.

Finish	Description
Anodising	Resistant to corrosion and wear due to protective aluminium oxide outer layer.
Bright Dipping	Electro-brightening treatment to produce smooth surface with high lustre and “mirror” finish.
Brushed Finish	Distinctive appearance with uniform fine lines parallel to the brushing direction.
Mill Finish	Original nature of aluminium, where no chemical or mechanical finish is applied on the surface.
Anodising	Resistant to corrosion and wear due to protective aluminium oxide outer layer.
Powder Coating	Durable film coating that can meet stringent performance criteria, offering a wide variety of colours.
Pretreatment	Etched or cleaned with an acidic or alkaline material before a pretreatment coating is applied. Applied coating enhances paint or powder adhesion and is corrosion resistant.
