Aluminium Sheets

Aluminium Sheets

Aluminium sheets, also known as aluminium plates, are basic raw form aluminium made into sheet form under high pressure. Being thin, sturdy and lightweight, aluminium sheets are used in a wide variety of industries and applications for its various properties. Coatings on aluminium sheets can provide long-lasting materials for exterior use such as cladding, while the lightweight nature of very thin sheet aluminium makes it ideal for use in drinks cans and other day to day products.

Uses of aluminium sheet include construction, marine, transport, automotive, food packaging, heavy machinery, industrial, manufacturing and aviation industries.

Two of the most common grades of aluminium sheet alloys are 1100 and 6061. AA1100 is commercially pure aluminium. It is soft and ductile and has excellent work ability. It is ideal for applications involving intricate forming because it work hardens more slowly than other alloys. It has the most weld ability of all aluminium sheet alloys using any method, but is non-heat treatable. It has an excellent resistance to corrosion and is commonly used in the chemical and food processing industries.

AA6061 is the most versatile of all heat-treatable aluminium sheet alloys, while maintaining most of the good qualities of aluminium. It offers a range of good mechanical properties and good corrosion resistance. It can be fabricated and welded by many commonly used techniques and has good work ability in the annealed condition. As a result, AA6061 is used in many different products and applications, which require corrosion resistance and strength.

Other aluminium sheet grades are available upon request. You can request to cut your aluminium sheets down to size.

Mill FinishOriginal nature of aluminium, where no mechanical or chemical finish is done on the surface.
Brushed FinishDistinctive look with uniform pattern of fine lines parallel to the brushing direction.
PretreatmentEtched or cleaned with an alkaline or acidic material before a pre treatment coating is applied. Applied coating enhances powder or paint adhesion and provides resistance against corrosion.
Bright DippingElectro-brightening treatment to produce smooth surface with high lustre and “mirror” finish.
AnodisingProtective layer of aluminium oxide providing increased resistance to corrosion and wear.
Powder CoatingDurable film coating that can meet stringent performance criteria, offering a wide range of colours.
